The bad news is that the Sensodrive gearbox has a reputation (that it has earned) for being problematic and expensive to repair. It is, in effect, an manual gearbox with robotic actuators. I know of a Forum member who had a car with such a gearbox; it cost about £1,000 to get the problems sorted but he had lost all trust in the car, so he sold it.

When calibrating the gear & clutch positions on EGS & Sensodrive gearboxes I always connect another running car to the vehicles battery with jump leads, if you don't & the battery is the slightest bit weak the process more often than not fails.

Hi, I have a Citroen C 3 Exclusive 1.6 petrol 55 reg, and it is a cracking little car but it has this major fault with the sensodrive gearbox which pops out of gear when slowing down say at a roundabout and wont engage the gears until you have waited for a few minutes and this causes real embarrasment at a busy roundabout.
The engines are also familiar, being the 1.4- and 1.6-litre petrol versions – the latter available with Citroen’s excellent paddle-shift SensoDrive gearbox.
